Description
Need a hearty soup recipe to feed your large family on cold days?
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs washed, chopped potatoes ( you choose whether peeled or unpeeled)
- 40 ounce can of kidney beans, undrained
- 2 – 15 ounce cans of buttered beans, undrained
- 2 – 15 ounce cans of navy beans, undrained
- 2 – 15 ounce cans of Great Northern beans, undrained
- 1 – 15 ounce cans of pinto beans, undrained
- 2 pounds chopped ham
- 5 celery stalks chopped
- One medium chopped onion
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon dried parsley
Instructions
Combined all ingredients in slow cooker. Cook on low for 6 to 7 hours, or on high 3 to 4 hours. I use my 7 to 8 qt slow cooker.
Notes
Rinse beans before adding if they make you super gassy. Rinsing them removes some of the excessive clear gel that is the culprit.
