The best part of homeschooling is that everything can be turned into a lesson. Yes and amen. Children are naturally curious which makes teaching them easy. These homemade cinnamon ornaments can serve the dual purpose of homeschool and Christmas crafts. We large family mamas are always multitasking. Hop over to my homeschool playlist on Youtube to see what homeschooling looks like in our large family. You can also read through my years of homeschool encouragement posts here on the blog.

Making these ornaments will warm up your home both in memories and heat since they have to hang out in a 200 degree oven for 2 and a half hours. Believe me when I say your house will smell amazing! It’s a super easy recipe too.
Mix the applesauce and cinnamon together to form a clay like dough. Put dough between two sheets of wax paper and roll out to desired thickness. We have found 1/2 inch to be great. Cut out shapes using cookie cutters. Make a hole in the top using a straw or bamboo skewer BEFORE baking. Don’t ask me how I know that little tidbit.Print
