We’ve been growing things around here. NOT a new baby (as of yet ;)), but other babies – garden babies. Last night when Naomi and I went out bare foot to water the plants she said,
“Mommy, this is just like being a garden angel.”
I love that. These are the memories that I want to always hold near.
The next edition of The Homeschool Village Garden Challenge starts today! This is a link-up where we share with one another the progress of our gardens. The winner will win a snazzy prize from Maestro Classics! I can’t really enter the challenge (since it’s my site); but I wanted to share what our family has dug up!
So far veggie-wise we have peppers ~
The children are thrilled because we’re growing a “baby cabbage.”
I tried to tell them about The Cabbage Patch Kids…they had not idea what I was talking about (lol).
And there’s this big-fat-baby that we found in the garden.
Let’s not forget our tiger lilies. You can read here how the Lord provides us with free flowers.
Since the tiger lilies are free, I have them literally encircling our house.
I have a thing for hosta. When the Lord gave us our house He made sure that it already had many hosta growing. I consider it a desire of my heart that He gave me. Over the years I’ve added a few different varieties, like this giant hosta that will get 6-ft across!
I have a lily bed along our play porch too. Notice the key words “play porch” – we live here 😉 One thing that I do to spruce up the kid area is hang garden flags from the beams.
I’m linking up with the HSV Garden Challenge to share with my homeschool friends all that we’re growing!
