It’s time to prepare something amazing for your family. This Instant Pot Sausage, Cabbage, and Potatoes are just what you’ve been craving.
- 2 (14 ounce) packages kielbasa, sliced
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 medium heads cabbage, cored and cut into 2 inch pieces
- ½ cup (1 stick) butter, cut into pats
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons white vinegar
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 3 pounds red potatoes, scrubbed and halved
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Dump the onion, sausage, red potatoes, and cabbage into the pot of the electric pressure cooker. Top with butter, chicken broth, white vinegar, thyme, salt, and pepper.
Place the lid on the electric pressure cooker and set the valve to sealing. Set the pressure cooker to “manual” or “pressure cook” for 5 minutes. Allow a 10-minute natural release of pressure when the cook cycle is complete.
Gently toss the ingredients together and serve.
For the slow cooker:
Dump all ingredients into a slow cooker. Toss together.
Cover and cook on low for 6 hours.
Tip: If all of the cabbage will not fit in the pressure cooker, place it in a covered pot with 1 cup of chicken broth over medium heat. Mix in together with the other ingredients after everything has cooked.
