What Ingredients Are a Must to Make the White Chocolate Cranberry Walnut Cookies?
When making the White Chocolate Cranberry Walnut Cookies, these are the ingredients you will need:
- Softened Butter. Mix your softened butter with the flour to form the perfect cookie dough.
- All-Purpose Flour. The flour is a must-have when you are making cookies from scratch.
- White Chocolate Chips. Add white chocolate chip morsels into your cookie dough for that light chocolate taste.
- Dried Cranberries. The dried cranberries offer a sweet taste and slightly chewy texture to these cookies.
- Chopped Walnuts. Use chopped walnuts to give your cookies that extra crunch.
- Baking Powder. Adding baking powder to your cookie dough will improve the way they turn out when you take them out of the oven.
You should also have salt, vanilla extract, sugar, and eggs to complete this recipe.
How to Prepare White Chocolate Cranberry Walnut Cookies
Set your oven to 350F and allow it to get hot. Add parchment paper to a baking sheet and begin working on creating your cookie dough. You should whisk the salt, baking powder, and flour together in one bowl while creaming the butter and sugar in a separate bowl for several minutes.
Put the eggs and vanilla into the bowl with the butter and sugar, pour the flour blend into the bowl, and begin stirring in your extras, such as the walnuts, cranberries, and white chocolate morsels. Use a cookie scoop to plop the dough onto your baking sheet and place the baking sheet in the oven for about 12 minutes.
How to Make Cookie Ahead of Time and Freeze
If you want to make the White Chocolate Cranberry Walnut Cookies ahead of time and then freeze them, prepare your cookie batter as you usually would. Scoop the batter out of the bowl and onto a sheet of waxed paper and place the sheet with the cookie dough into the freezer.
Check the cookie dough periodically to see when it finally freezers. Once frozen, put it in an airtight container and keep it in the freezer for as long as six months before baking. Having the pre-made cookie dough will come in handy when you want to quickly bake cookies for your large family.

- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 ¼ cups all purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 ½ cups white chocolate chips
- 1 ½ cups dried cranberries
- 1 ½ cups chopped walnuts
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
-
Add the eggs and vanilla, mixing well.

Add the flour mixture to the batter, scraping down the sides as needed.
-
Stir in the white chocolate chips, cranberries, and walnuts.
-
Using a medium cookie scoop, drop the cookie dough about 2 inches apart onto the prepared baking sheet.
-
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 to 7 minutes before transferring the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
To make ahead and freeze:
-
Place waxed paper on a baking sheet.
-
Prepare the batter as directed but scoop onto the waxed paper.
-
Roll the cookies in the cinnamon sugar mixture and return to the waxed paper.
-
Place the baking sheet in the freezer until the cookie dough is frozen.
-
Transfer to an airtight container and freeze up to 6 months.
-
Follow the baking directions above! You can bake the cookies from frozen, but they will need a few more minutes added to the baking time if you chose. I like to defost the cookie dough beforehand and bake as directed.
