Big Family Mushrooms, Peas, and Chicken Dinner | Slow Cooker Freezer Meal

Looking for a flavorful meal that contains vegetables and chicken, but is not hard to prepare? Try this Big Family Mushrooms, Peas, and Chicken Dinner that you can make in the slow cooker.

Cook Time 4 hours

Ingredients
  

  • 8 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 onions diced
  • 2 1 ounce packets onion mushroom soup mix
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder or 8 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 16 ounce package sliced mushrooms
  • 4 cups frozen peas thawed

Instructions
 

  • Place the onion in the slow cooker. Over the onion, place the chicken breasts over the onions and cover with soup mix and garlic. Add the water and mushrooms.
  • Cover and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours.
  • Remove the lid. Shred the chicken and stir in the peas. Cover and continue to cook for 30 minutes or until the peas are heated through.
  • Serve over rice or mashed potatoes or as is.

Notes

How to freeze:  Place all ingredients in an airtight container or freezer bag. Freeze up to 3 months. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight. Transfer ingredients to the prepared slow cooker and follow the directions about to cook.
