Big Family Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Tater Tot Casserole, Freezer-Friendly

Prepare the perfect freezer-friendly breakfast meal with this Big Family Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Tater Tot Casserole. Assemble it with ease, bake it, and serve it while hot!

Ingredients
  

  • 4 pounds cooked and crumbled bulk sausage
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 16 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 bags frozen tater tots

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Prepare two (9x13) casserole dishes with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Divide the sausage between the two casserole dishes, creating an even but NOT packed layer.
  • Top the sausage with the cheese.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and seasonings. Pour over the sausage and cheese.
  • Finish the casseroles with an even layer of tater tots.
  • Bake for 60 minutes or until the eggs are completely set.

Notes

How to freeze:  Cover tightly with aluminum foil and freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight. If using glass baking dishes, place them on the counter as the oven preheats. Remove the aluminum foil. Follow the above instructions to bake.
