Christmas Wreath Fruit Pizza Recipe

The holidays are known for needing a dish at the last minute. Get togethers abound and before you know it, it’s the morning of an event and you have no dessert. Christmas wreath fruit pizza is festive, tasty with a bit of sweet mixed with refreshing fruit, and amazingly easy to prepare. Prepare to be complimented by everyone when you arrive with this dish.

Get a baking sheet big enough for a circle. A pizza stone would work great too. . Roll out the dough to shape it. You can freehand it into a wreath shape or roll it into a circle then use a bowl to cut a circle out the middle. That’s my go to when I’m in a rush and just can’t spare the extra brain cells. Just keeping it real here. Use powdered sugar to keep it from sticking.

Cook for 15 – 20 mins or until the edges are brown and the middle isn’t jiggly. Jiggly middles are not good for people or cookies. Let cool completely.

Once cool, put it on the plate or whatever you are serving it on. You can peel off the parchment paper or leave it. That is entirely up to you. Just decide it before you start decorating. Mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla together until smooth. Slather all over top of cookie wreath.

Wash, dry, and slice fruit. You can use whatever you have on hand. Maybe you got a hodgepodge in your Misfit Market box. Use it. Want to make it festive, use some strawberries and kiwis. You get complete creative control over which fruit to use and where to put it. Heck, have the kids take over assembling at this point.

Store in refrigerator until ready to serve. Serve immediately upon removal from refrigerator. Now leftovers can get a weird soggy cookie texture but that’s not important. It will be such a hit that there won’t be leftovers anyway.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (17.5 ounce) package refrigerated sugar cookie dough
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Fruit for decorating: strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, oranges, etc.

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. On the parchment, press the cookie dough into desired shape. Use flour, powdered sugar, or parchment paper to keep your hands from sticking.

  3. Bake the cookie for 15 to 20 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the middle is not jiggly. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely before decorating.

  4. In a medium bowl, beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.

  5. Prepare the fruit for decorating the cookie. Make sure fruit is washed, dried, and sliced (if needed).

  6. Evenly spread cream cheese mixture over the cookie. Decorate as desired with fruit.

  7. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Best if served immediately.
