Big Family Pantry Makeover – Large Family Pantry Organization and Tour!
Join me for some pantry organization and pantry storage. Big family pantry organization is tricky since we need more of items than most common-sized families (hello 10 tubs of toothpaste to stay ahead, lol!)
Before the pandemic, we always stocked up on things like napkins or toilet paper. Since then, the pandemic has made me stock up on things like powdered milk as well. If we are ever in another situation, I know I’ll have it on hand. As you’ll see in this new Big Family Pantry video, powdered milk has the best buy date of late 2023 and 2024. I plan on rotating through the bags, just like how I rotate through other pantry storage items.
I have a pantry room in my basement (and here are some updates on our garage to kitchen makeover) where I store more short-term and long-term food storage items. That room also houses my canning jars and equipment, plus bathroom & household cleaning storage items.
We’re not sticklers for expiration dates (the “best buy” date doesn’t always mean it is bad after the expiration date), but we are mindful of rotating things so it’s not stuck in the back of the closet.
