It’s a good idea to use fresh garlic. You can peel the cloves and chop them into pieces to create minced garlic to add to the slow cooker for flavor. If you are in a hurry, you can use minced garlic that you find in the deli area at the grocery store.

Do I season the pork tenderloin before adding it to the slow cooker?

Yes, you’ll season the pork tenderloins by applying the olive oil to all sides of it and then adding salt and pepper to it. However, you don’t need to add anything else to it until after you’ve cooked it in the skillet for several minutes. Once you transfer it from the skillet to the slow cooker, you can add the other spices and ingredients, such as garlic, brown sugar, and balsamic vinegar.

Description

Make dinner easy on yourself tonight with the help of this Large Family Slow Cooker Pork Tenderloin recipe! 


Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 (3 to 4 pound) pork tenderloin
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 thinly sliced onion
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2/3 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce

 


Instructions

  1. Place a large skillet over medium-high heat to get hot. Drizzle oil over the pork tenderloin and season well with salt and pepper. Carefully put the pork tenderloin in the skillet to sear until brown on all sides, about 3 minutes per side.

  2. Place the sliced onions in the bottom of a slow cooker. Place seared pork loin on top of onions.

  3. Sprinkle the garlic and brown sugar over the pork tenderloin.

  4. Mix the water, balsamic vinegar, and soy sauce. Pour over the top of the pork loin.

  5. Cover and cook on high for 2 to 3 hours or low for 6 hours or until it reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees. 

  6. Transfer the juices to a medium saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil and simmer until syrupy, about 15 minutes.  Pour over the pork and serve.
