So this is my face when we’re about to run our of toilet paper and other staples at our house. I don’t even need to look at the calendar to see that it’s nearing the end of the month. I know it’s time for our massive monthly haul.
In my video of my Large Family Grocery Shopping Haul I take you along as I shop at Sharp Shopper (a salvage grocery store in Virginia), Costco, The Dollar Tree, and Walmart. You’ll hear about little tricks and systems that I have in place to feed my growing family. I also include a tour of my refrigerators & freezers!
On Instagram I shared, “Oh no! That wild lady who comes in and buys up all the marked down bread is here again!” (and you know she has *all those* kids 🙂

I liked your video! How much total do you think you spend per mo? Just curious as we have 12 in our house hold!
Dana, here’s our grocery budget breakdown –> https://largefamilytable.com/large-family-grocery-budget/
This is awesome! We go to Sam’s Club and Walmart for a massive pantry/freezer stock every 5-6 weeks – shopping for a family of 7 going on 8. But at this point we are working with only one smaller than average fridge and freezer unit which usually means small weekly trips to grocery store and occasionally the need for my husband to stop by Sam’s once in between. We are also rural – 45 minutes from anything other than the local store which isn’t very great. I love seeing how other families do this kind of thing. Thanks for sharing! Also makes me feel like we’re not the only ones!
I just stumbled on your site. I recognized your face from our homeschool group! We also shop once a month for our family of 5. I pick one day to hit up sharp sharper, big lots, costco and walmart. I try to shop as healthy, organic as possible so 2 (maybe sometimes 3) times I end up going to the Walmart here in town for a few items. I also try to buy local milk and produce (when it’s in season). I never thought about stocking up on milk and bread and freezing. Thanks for sharing!
Hey, Alicia – thanks for finding me! Yes, I share a lot online. 🙂 I don’t currently freeze milk, but I did for several years. It works great. I can talk to you more about it at homeschool group. Just knock me in the head when you see me, ha!!
Does freezing eggs change up how they cook?
