What to Use When Preparing Your Sheet Pan Breakfast Sandwiches
While you already know that you will need bacon, eggs, and cheese, there are a few other important ingredients to have. You will need salt and pepper to taste, milk to add to your egg mixture, and at least 24 dinner rolls or biscuits.
Be sure to cut your biscuits or rolls in half to prepare the sandwiches. You might want to use homemade biscuits or pre-packaged ones from the grocery store. If you prefer to use rolls over biscuits, Hawaiian sweet rolls are a great choice. However, you can use any rolls that you like.
Can You Substitute the Bacon?
You can substitute the bacon with other meats. If you like turkey bacon over traditional pork bacon, you can use that. If you do not want to use bacon, other great substitutes include turkey sausage patties, pork sausage patties, and pork roll, which is also known as Taylor ham.
If you are a vegetarian, you can skip the meat altogether or replace it with a vegetarian-friendly version. You can find veggie breakfast patties and vegan deli slices that will taste great with the eggs and cheese.
Is There a Dairy-Free Option?
Although this recipe calls for the use of cheddar cheese on the sandwich, and milk in the egg batter, you can skip the cheese and milk to make it a dairy-free option. If you would still like the flavor and moisture that cheese offers, you can use a dairy-free version of cheddar cheese slices or replace the cheese with guacamole to add that creamy texture. If you prefer that little bit of extra fluff that having milk in the batter brings, you can replace the milk with a milk substitute like almond milk or oat milk.
Can You Freeze the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Sheet Pan Breakfast Sandwiches?
You can freeze the Large Family Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Sheet Pan Breakfast Sandwiches, which makes them even more convenient to prepare in advance. If you decide to freeze them, wrap each sandwich individually in plastic wrap and then put all the sandwiches in an airtight container or freezer bag.
You can leave your breakfast sandwiches in the freezer for up to six months. When you want to grab one, simply pull it out from the freezer and reheat it in the microwave or oven for a quick and delicious breakfast meal. It takes less than two minutes to reheat one of the sandwiches in the microwave after removing it from the freezer.
