You can expect to see smiles on the faces of your children when presenting them with these moist and delicious Christmas Eve Donuts.

The List of Ingredients to Use When Making Christmas Eve Donuts

Make the Christmas Eve Donuts for your family with the following baking ingredients:

  • All-Purpose Flour. The all-purpose flour is the first ingredient needed to create your base for the donut dough.
  • Chocolate Chip Morsels. Use chocolate chip morsels to give these donuts a chocolatey taste that makes them more decadent.
  • Vanilla Extract. A small amount of vanilla extract gives flavor to the donuts.
  • Brown Sugar. Use brown sugar to add some sweetness to your donut dough before you begin baking these tasty treats.
  • Butter. As with any baking recipe, you will need to have some butter. Leave it out to let it soften before mixing it with flour and other ingredients in this recipe.

Ways to Store and Freeze the Christmas Eve Donuts For a Large Family

Not everyone has extra time to bake on Christmas Eve. If you are one of those people who have so much to do during the holiday season, you can make these Large Family Christmas Eve Donuts ahead of time to have them ready to bake or eat by the time December 24th arrives. You have two options when preparing these donuts in advance.

You can prepare the dough, freeze it on a wax sheet of paper, and then put it in a sealed container before adding it back to the freezer for several weeks or months. However, you can also bake the donuts, spread them out on parchment paper in a large airtight container, and place them in the freezer. You could quickly defrost them by pulling them from the freezer and placing them in your fridge or putting them on your kitchen table.

More sweet treats your family will enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 large eggs
  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter  – melted
  • 1 1/2 cup milk
  • 3 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • Sprinkles

For the glaze:

  • 1/2 cup + 6 tablespoons heavy cream – this will be divided
  • 2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 cup white chocolate – chopped

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Prepare a donut pan with cooking spray.
  • Place the flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, baking powder and salt in a large bowl. Stir to combine.
  • Add the eggs, milk, butter and vanilla extract to the bowl. Whisk until smooth.
  • Place the batter in the Wilton decorating set and pipe the batter into the wells of the pan.
  • Bake for 10 minutes. Allow the donuts to cool for about for 3 minutes, then remove them from the pan and allow them to continue to cool.
  • Repeat the process with the remaining batter for the second batch of donuts.
  • Allow all of the donuts cool completely.

To make the glaze:

  • Place 1/2 cup of cream in one bowl and add 3 tablespoons of cream in a second bowl. Microwave 1/2 cup of cream for 30 seconds and microwave 3 tablespoons of cream for 20 seconds.
  • Pour the chocolate into the bowl with 1/2 cup heavy cream and put the white chocolate into the other bowl. Cover each bowl.
  • Allow the chocolate glaze sit for 3 minutes, then uncover and stir until smooth. If there are still clumps microwave in segments of 5-10 seconds until smooth.

Dip each donut into the chocolate. Top with sprinkles.

Allow the donuts to sit for about 15 minutes until the glaze firms up.

Enjoy!
