Peanut Butter Cup Blossoms

When following this recipe, you can make 36 Peanut Butter Cup Blossoms, which is likely more than enough for your large family. However, if you want to have plenty of extra sweet treats for everyone to have throughout the week, you can double the recipe.

The Ingredients You Will Need to Make Peanut Butter Cup Blossoms

When you are ready to make the Peanut Butter Blossoms, you should have these ingredients in your kitchen:

  • Peanut Butter. Adding peanut butter to the flour will provide the added peanut butter flavoring that you may crave.
  • All-Purpose Flour. The all-purpose flour is needed whenever you are making a treat like this that is similar to muffins and cookies.
  • Vanilla Extract. Enhance the taste of the blossoms by using a slight bit of vanilla extract.
  • Mini Resse’s Cups. The miniature Reese’s cups are the centerpiece for these tasty treats and are a must-have.
  • Packed Brown Sugar. Using brown sugar in this recipe is essential to give your blossoms an even sweeter taste.

You will also need white sugar, eggs, butter, baking soda, and salt to complete the recipe. And make sure you check out my recommended kitchen tools to be sure you have everything you need.

How to Prepare the Peanut Butter Cup Blossoms

After getting your ingredients, mix the flour with baking soda and salt. In a separate bowl, you will need to integrate the butter with both brown and white sugar. Once both types of sugars get mixed with the butter, you can begin adding your peanut butter.

You can add the flour to your peanut butter mixture, mix well, and then scoop the mixture out into 1-inch balls. Put those balls of dough into muffin tins, bake for 10 minutes, and pull them from the oven. Add a peanut butter cup in the center of each of your blossoms.

Make Ahead Freezable Cookie Dough

One of the best parts of this Peanut Butter Cup Recipe is you can make it as Make Ahead Freezable Cookie Dough! To make this cookie dough ahead for the freezer just place waxed paper on a baking sheet. You’ll then prepare your cookie dough batter as directed in the recipe below and scoop onto the waxed paper. After that, place the baking sheet in the freezer until the cookie dough is frozen. Once the dough is frozen just transfer to an airtight container and freezer up to 6-months. Set your make ahead cookie dough out from the freezer into the refrigerator to defrost. Bake as the directions detail and use as you normally would – yay!

How to Store Your Peanut Butter Cup Blossoms

Put your blossoms in an airtight container. Use parchment paper to separate these treats to prevent them from getting stuck. You can keep them in the freezer for up to 6 months or leave them out and tear them up with the family.

When preparing them in advance for holiday gatherings, it is convenient to freeze the Peanut Butter Cup Blossoms, but you might not need to freeze them regularly if you plan on eating them right away with your children.
