What You’ll Need to Make Instant Pot Salsa Chicken:
Salsa Chicken is a super easy way to add a little spice to any meal. Made with your choice of either fresh or frozen boneless, skinless chicken breasts, this recipe is truly a fix-it-and-forget-about-it way to have a Large Family meal in your home. The only other ingredients are salsa, garlic powder, and taco seasoning! If you’d like you can use crushed garlic, or maybe throw on some fresh cilantro just before you eat. This recipe lends itself to so many different meals needing a bit of spice!
How Do I Prepare Salsa Chicken?
It always saves time later to spray or coat the inside of the pan, so take time now to add the olive oil to coat the inside your instant pot. Next you’ll want to add the chicken pieces, sprinkling with the seasonings as you layer the chicken into the Instant Pot. Pour the salsa over the chicken and that’s it! So easy!

Can I Freeze Instant Pot Salsa Chicken?
Sure you can! Just prepare all of your chicken ingredients as directed. Next cool them overnight in the refrigerator, and then store them in a freezer-safe container format least three months. Thaw and reheat when you’re ready to serve them and serve them as directed! (I’ve added the complete instructions to the recipe card)
What Can I Serve With My Salsa Chicken?
Just about anything you like will really compliment this Chicken Dinner. Some Freezer Friendly Mashed Potatoes are a great idea, and you can even freeze them! And don’t forget about Cornbread or even Instant Pot Brown Rice!

Description
Salsa Chicken is a super easy way to add a little spice to any meal. Made with either fresh or frozen boneless, skinless chicken breasts, this recipe is a fix-it-and-forget-about-it way to have a Large Family meal in your home
Ingredients
5 to 6 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoons taco seasoning
1 teaspoon garlic powder
3 cups salsa
Instructions
-
In the electric pressure cooker, pour the olive oil and swirl to coat the bottom of the liner.
-
Add the chicken, sprinkling with the seasonings as you layer the chicken.
-
Over the chicken, pour the salsa.
-
Place the lid on the electric pressure cooker and set the valve to sealing. Program the electric pressure cooker to “pressure cook” or “manual” for 20 minutes. When the cooking cycle is complete, allow the electric pressure cooker to naturally release the pressure for 5 minutes before performing a quick release of the remaining pressure.
-
Carefully remove the lid and shred the chicken with two forks.
-
Use the chicken for burritos, tacos, nachos, or quesadillas.
