What Ingredients Do I Need For Slow Cooker Chicken a la King?

  • Boneless, skinless Chicken breast (you’ll want to cube these)
  • Cream of Chicken Soup- this is the creamy, gravy like addition to the meal!
  • Celery (chopped)
  • Green Pepper (chopped)
  • Onion (diced)
  • Frozen peas
  • Pimentos
  • Seasonings: black pepper, cayenne pepper

How Do I Prepare Slow Cooker Chicken a la King to Feed a Crowd?

Because you’re using the slow cooker, preparing the crock with a no stick cooking spray makes clean up so much easier! The first step is to add the soup, flour, and seasonings in the slow cooker. Once those are combined, you’ll next add the chicken, celery, green pepper, and onion. Cover your slow cooker and cook on low for 7-8 hours.

Next you’ll remove the lid and carefully stir in the peas and pimentos. If you’re having rice with your meal, you can start the rice now. After about 30 minutes, turn off the slow cooker and remove the lid! Serve your Slow Cooker Chicken a la King over rice or pasta.

Can I Freeze Slow Cooker Chicken a la King?

Yes and Amen! Once you’ve prepared your Chicken a la King, you can wrap it in aluminum foil and plastic wrap or put a freezer-safe lid on it before putting it in the freezer to keep it fresh. Don’t forget to add your label! You can leave the meal in the freezer for a minimum of 3 months before thawing it and reheating. You can also assemble smaller portions into freezer-safe bags and store them that way to save space. To thaw, follow the recipe card below (it’s printable!) and remember to always heat your casserole to a minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees.
