The Ingredients You Will Need to Prepare the Slow Cooker Chicken Alfredo
You can make this tasty Slow Cooker Chicken Alfredo using the following essential ingredients:
- Chicken Breast. Use boneless, skinless chicken breast chopped into pieces.
- Chicken Stock. Bring more flavor to your chicken using your favorite brand of chicken stock.
- Cream Cheese. Add the cream cheese to your slow cooker to give this dish that cheesy taste that it usually has.
- Heavy Whipping Cream. The addition of heavy whipping cream creates a flavorful alfredo sauce for the chicken.
- Parmesan Cheese. You’ll need shredded parmesan cheese to add to your slow cooker.
The other ingredients needed to make this meal include garlic powder, salt, pepper, romano cheese, and xanthan gum. The xanthan gum thickens the sauce. You can replace it with a tablespoon of cornstarch mixed with a tablespoon of water if need be.
What Do I Serve With the Slow Cooker Chicken Alfredo?
When you want to make this a true low-carb meal, serve it over zucchini noodles instead of traditional pasta. The zucchini noodles offer a refreshing taste to the dish. You can pour the sauce and chicken on top of the noodles and enjoy everything together. If you don’t want to use zucchini noodles, serve the chicken in a bowl on its own or with spaghetti squash.

- 2 cup chicken stock
- 2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 2 (8 ounce) package cream cheese

- 2 cup freshly shredded Parmesan cheese
- 2 cup freshly shredded Romano cheese
- 1 to 2 teaspoon xanthan gum, to thicken
Instructions
- Prepare the slow cooker liner with nonstick cooking spray.
-
Place chicken breast into the bottom of the slow cooker. Pour the chicken stock over the chicken. Sprinkle the chicken with garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
-
Cut the cream cheese into cubes and place over the top of the chicken.
-
Cover the slow cooker and cook on high for 2 to 3 hours or low for 4 to 5 hours.
-
Carefully remove the chicken from the slow cooker. Cut into slices, shred, or cube.
-
Whisk the remaining contents of the slow cooker until the cream cheese is blended with the juices.
-
To the slow cooker, add the warmed heavy cream and cheeses. Stir in the cheeses and continue stirring until melted.
