Do I Use Fresh Garlic?
It is a good idea to use fresh garlic in this recipe. However, if you do not have fresh garlic cloves that you can mince and add to the slow cooker, you can use garlic powder, or pre-diced garlic as an alternative. It may be easier for you to simply add garlic powder to the slow cooker instead of getting your hands messy while chopping fresh garlic into pieces.
What to Serve With the Tropical Pork Chops
These sweet Slow Cooker Tropical Pork Chops taste amazing served over a bed of brown rice, vegetable fried rice, or garlic riced cauliflower. If you are not into rice, you can serve these pork chops with baked potatoes and your favorite vegetables, such as broccoli, corn on the cob, and steamed carrots. You may even want to add a bit of sauce from your slow cooker to your vegetables to give them more flavor.
Which Pork Chops Should I Use?
Pork loin chops are best to use for this recipe. These chops are thick and offer plenty of meat, which means you will have plenty of food to feed your large family. Be sure to get them without the bone to avoid biting into bones when enjoying your meal.

How to Freeze the Tropical Pork Chops
This meal makes a great freezer meal! Put most of your ingredients into a freezer bag or food storage container. You do not need to add the cilantro or almonds before freezing. Place the container or bag into the freezer and allow the ingredients to stay frozen for up to three months. Your ingredients can thaw in your fridge overnight before you toss them into the slow cooker to make your Large Family Slow Cooker Tropical Pork Chops.
