Ingredients Needed to Prepare the Chicken Pesto Tortellini Bake
When preparing the Large Family Chicken Pesto Tortellini Bake, you will need to have the following ingredients:
- Cheese Tortellini. You will need three packages of pre-made cheese tortellini for this recipe.
- Cooked Chicken. Prepare your chicken in advance and chop or shred. (More chicken recipes to try!)
- Alfredo Sauce. Choose any brand of alfredo sauce. You will need to have two jars of sauce for this dish.
- Pesto Sauce. Grab two jars of pesto sauce to use with the alfredo sauce.
- Spinach. Chop your spinach into small pieces before adding it to the dish.
The only other ingredients needed include grape tomatoes cut in halves and Italian blend cheese. If you do not have Italian blend cheese, you can always use a combination of mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
Do I Use Fresh or Canned Spinach?
Use fresh spinach for the Large Family Chicken Pesto Tortellini Bake. You will need to chop it into fine pieces before adding it in with the rest of the ingredients. You can buy a bag of baby spinach and use it.
Which Alfredo Sauce is Best to Use?
I have made alfredo lots of times in recipes and it always comes out well. While I don’t currently have an alfredo recipe by itself, you can check out my Easy Shrimp Alfredo recipe and copy how I make it. Otherwise, you can use any brand of alfredo sauce that you have tried and enjoyed.
What Type of Chicken Should I Use?
You can use cubed or shredded chicken for this recipe. I like to make my chicken in the instant pot ahead of time. You could also try making chicken in the air fryer. There are several types of chicken you can use, including leftover baked or grilled chicken breasts, baked boneless, skinless chicken thighs, or rotisserie chicken. You can shred your chicken into thin pieces in seconds by using a stand mixer or hand mixer.
How to Freeze the Chicken Pesto Tortellini Bake
Assemble the entire casserole, then cover it tightly with aluminum foil and freeze for up to 3 months. When you want to reheat it, thaw it in the refrigerator overnight. If you are using a glass baking dish, place it on the counter as the oven preheats. Remove the aluminum foil before baking. Follow the instructions below to bake.
