AIR FRYER CHICKEN THIGHS RECIPE

I have a love/hate relationship with fried chicken. I love the taste but hate the calories and work it takes to make it. While this air fryer chicken thighs recipe is stupidly easy as well as tasty, it can still take a while to make for a large family depending on the size of your air fryer. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. 😉

Pretty simply, you rub your chicken thighs with olive oil on all sides. Get really intimate with it. Rub all up under the skin and get the oil in all the crevices. Lay the oiled thighs on the air fryer tray and season as desired. We sprinkle with salt/pepper along with a bit of oregano and paprika. Garlic and onion powder is a winning combination as well. Just use what your family normally likes to season their food.

Place in air fryer at 390 degrees for 25 – 30 mins depending on thickness of chicken thighs. Flip halfway through and I like to season again so it is tasty on both sides. Always check chicken to be absolutely sure it reaches 180 degrees internal temperature. No one wants to get the family sick off raw chicken.

Description

In the mood for crispy chicken but don’t want the calories or the work?  Use this super easy air fryer recipe for a healthier version.


Ingredients

  • 4 chicken thighs
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

 


Instructions

 

  1. Prepare air fryer basket with non-stick cooking spray.

  2. Rub chicken thighs with olive oil on all sides.

  3. Sprinkle with seasonings on all sides.

  4. Cook at 390 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes, flipping halfway. Exact time depends on the thickness of the chicken thighs and the wattage of the air fryer. Test the chicken with an instant read thermometer for a temperature of 180 degrees. Remove from air fryer and serve warm.


Notes

Always check for an internal temperature of 180 degrees. Serve with Marinated Cucumber Salad for a refreshing meal.
