Can I Use Any Type of Mini Bagels?

You can use any type of mini bagels that you like. For example, you may want to use plain or egg bagels. If you want to add even more flavor to these breakfast sandwiches, you can use everything, onion and garlic bagels, multi-grain or any flavor you have on hand. Use what you like to enjoy these breakfast sandwiches!

Which Sausage Patties Should I Use?

Use any brand or style of sausage patties that you like to eat for breakfast. It does not matter if you use pork, turkey, or beef sausage patties, depending on what you like most.

What Other Cheese Would Taste Good on It?

The sharp cheddar cheese has a great flavor that enhances the taste of these mini bagels with sausage and eggs. You can replace it with other types of cheese to switch up the flavor or make use of what you have on hand. Some good cheeses to use with the sausage and eggs include American cheese, swiss cheese, gouda, Colby, Colby-jack, Monterey Jack, Havarti, provolone, or mozzarella.

Can I Add Other Ingredients to These Bagels?

If you want to add other ingredients to your bagels with the eggs, cheese, and sausage patties, feel free to do so. You can make the sandwiches meatier by adding bacon that you make in the oven or air fryer. You might also want to add a few veggies to the sandwiches, such as green peppers, red onions, lettuce, or tomato.

How Do I Freeze the Sandwiches?

Wrap each sandwich in plastic wrap, aluminum foil, or parchment paper and seal them. Place the sandwiches together in an airtight storage container and put them in your freezer to keep them fresh. You can store them for a month, reheating them in the microwave when you want one.

Description

Have breakfast ready to eat at home or on the go with these delicious Sausage Egg and Cheese Bagels. It does not take long to assemble these sandwiches and enjoy them!

Ingredients

  • 20 sliced mini bagels
  • 20 sausage patties
  • 12 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ teaspoon salt or to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper or to taste
  • 12 slices sharp cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Prepare two 17×11 inch baking sheets by lining them with parchment paper, setting them aside.

  2. In a large bowl combine the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper.  Pour the egg mixture onto the first 17×11 baking sheet. Place in the oven and bake for 15 to 17 minutes or until the eggs are set.

  3. On the second baking sheet, place the sausage patties. Bake in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until cooked through but not overcooked. When done, transfer the sausage to drain on paper towels.

  4. Place the sausage over the cooked eggs and cut the eggs into squares.

  5. To assemble the sandwich, layer a bagel with the eggs, sausage, and cheese.

Notes

To freeze: Wrap sandwiches individually and then place in an airtight container. Store for up to one month. Reheat in the oven or microwave.
