  • 16 slices bread
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 16 eggs
  • ¼ cup butter, melted
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • Prepare a large (21 x 15 inch) rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper spritzed with nonstick cooking spray.

  • Using a round cookie cutter or biscuit cutter, remove the middle from each slice of bread. Arrange the bread slices on the baking sheets with the cut circles.

  • Melt the butter and brush butter on top of the circle cut out pieces. If you are making this dairy-free, then use oil to brush the tops or dairy-free butter spread replacement.

  • In the hole of each bread slice, add a sprinkle of bacon.

  • Carefully crack an egg over each hole and allow the egg to rest in the hole. If desired, beat the egg slightly with a fork. Top with another sprinkle of cooked bacon. Season with salt and black pepper if desired.

  • Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 12 to 16 minutes or until the eggs are set to your desired doneness.
